Before the city wakes, I run. These early miles function as research — a way to observe light, rhythm and movement. What’s gathered in motion becomes the material for my drawings and paintings.

CLAUDINE X PRETEND LOVERS
A short film made in collaboration with Glasgow-based filmmakers Pretend Lovers, documenting an evolving practice shaped by movement, process and daily running.

Claudine O’Sullivan is a World Illustration Award–winning artist with over a decade of professional experience. She works across branding, advertising, packaging and commissioned content, producing visually resolved work with clarity and intent. Her clients include the Royal Academy of Arts, Apple and John Lewis, alongside the delivery of creative workshops and public programmes. She is currently developing projects with partners in the health and sports sectors focused on distinctive, visually led storytelling.

Claudine’s practice is informed by movement, with running operating as a recurring structure within her studio work. Alongside this, she collaborates with clients across the running, sports and wellbeing sectors, producing imagery shaped by process, rhythm and physical engagement. She welcomes projects that align with this way of working and extend her ongoing interest in movement-led image making.

Claudine has been a creative mentor with the Association of Illustrators since 2021 and offers a limited number of one-to-one mentoring sessions alongside her studio and commissioned work.

Originally from Ireland and now based in Glasgow, her practice is grounded in movement, with running operating as a central, structuring force. Engagement with landscape and lived experience informs the work, shaping a studio practice that is physical, sustained and attentive to process.
