GRAVEL: THE SPACE BETWEEN

Run Culture: Live, London, 2026

An artist-led running and participatory art activation created with Salomon for Run Culture: Live, marking the announcement of Salomon Gravelanza coming to London in 2027.

Beginning with a guided run through East London, I introduced my Movement as Method practice and a series of simple prompts encouraging runners to notice the changing terrain underfoot. Rhythm, resistance, surface and the moment road became gravel.

Back at the space, I made the first mark.

Participants then translated their own experience of the run onto two large canvases, building a collective work from multiple experiences of the same route.

One run. Different bodies. Different marks.

At the end of the activation, I cut the work into individual pieces for each participant to take home, turning one collective record of the run into something that continued beyond the event.
