VHI Women’s Mini Marathon
Runner Story Illustration & Campaign
Brief
Commissioned by the VHI Women’s Mini Marathon to contribute to a storytelling initiative pairing four runners with four artists. Each collaboration explored the personal motivations behind running, using art as a vehicle for narrative and connection.
Delivery
Paired with runner Naoimh, I developed an illustrated response informed by her lived experience, values, and reasons for running. The artwork translated her story into a typographic illustration that balanced intimacy with clarity, maintaining respect for the individual while aligning with the wider campaign.
Result
The final piece formed part of the official VHI Women’s Mini Marathon storytelling programme, foregrounding the human narratives at the centre of the event and demonstrating how illustration can extend sport-led campaigns through depth, empathy and authorship.
