Studio

Where movement becomes structure,
and rhythm informs form.

My studio practice develops embodied spatial research through endurance movement. Based in Glasgow, I work across painting and drawing, using running as both fieldwork and method. Routes, pace and physical engagement guide decisions from initial gesture to final layer, translating lived terrain into abstraction.

Movement & Method
Work develops through rhythm rather than pre-planning. Repetition, pace and embodied movement shape mark, colour and composition. Each piece registers spatial experience as it emerges on paper or canvas: fragments of terrain, urban structure and shifting perspective held within layered form.

Materials & Making
Process is physical and iterative. Surfaces are built, revised and reworked across sessions, sustaining compositional momentum. Traditional materials allow for resistance, nuance and unpredictability, preserving the trace of touch and variation central to the work.

Practice in Context
Studio research extends into exhibitions, public interventions and commissioned projects. Documentation on this page reflects moments of making, studies, tests and transitions, revealing the structural logic underpinning finished works.
