Blood, Milk & Tears - Solo Exhibition
An intimate exploration of matrescence - becoming a mother.
Brief
The London Irish Centre invited me to present a solo exhibition of my personal work.
Delivery
At the time, my creative practice was anchored in writing. With my second child still very young, my daily journals had become the foundation of my creative process. From these entries, I curated a collection of poetry and reflections that shaped a series of large, graphic visual pieces - each one translating written emotion into bold, expressive form.
Result
Blood, Milk and Tears is a deeply personal body of work that charts my experience of pregnancy, birth, and early motherhood. The exhibition brings together intimate journal poetry with striking graphic visuals to convey the emotional, physical and spiritual transformation involved in becoming a mother. The resulting space was reflective, honest, and experimental - an immersive exploration of vulnerability and creative expression.
