Brief
Building on my personal work exploring motherhood and pregnancy, I was commissioned by The Guardian to create two illustrations for their long-read on Hyperemesis gravidarum.
Delivery
Working in acrylic and pen on coloured paper, I set out to portray pregnancy with honesty and modernity - intentionally steering away from overly feminine tropes or traditional visual clichés. The aim was to capture the physical and emotional intensity of the experience with clarity and empathy.
15 X 21cm Acrylic & Posca on Paper | 2025
Please note these are working sketches, so paper is hand cut and may have pin hole.
Signed on reverse.
