As I descend, my eyes lift to the hills, where lavender tones echo the sky above. Yet my focus stays on the path beneath me as the surrounding landscape dissolves into soft lilac.
20×20cm Acrylic, Gesso & Emulsion on cradled Ply | 2025
Original painting, a three part series inspired by morning trail runs in the Pentland Hills, Edinburgh.
Signed on reverse.
This is my second series inspired by morning trail runs through the Pentland Hills. Drawing on memory and sketches, these landscapes are less abstract than my other work. Guided by my running journal, I explore how motion distorts perception: shimmering skylines, blurred edges and the flowing rhythm of the hills.
