A gentle climb unfolds before me, the path glowing in gold and rust. Around me, the lilac hills continue to recede, while the horizon shimmers and shifts as I move upward.
20×20cm Acrylic, Gesso & Emulsion on cradled Ply | 2025
Original painting, a three part series inspired by morning trail runs in the Pentland Hills, Edinburgh.
Signed on reverse.
This is my second series inspired by morning trail runs through the Pentland Hills. Drawing on memory and sketches, these landscapes are less abstract than my other work. Guided by my running journal, I explore how motion distorts perception: shimmering skylines, blurred edges and the flowing rhythm of the hills.
